about us

This is me, Donna, and my dog Percy (RIP).

A year after his passing, I started walking other people's dogs in Thirroul.  I have always enjoyed the company of dogs and hanging at the beach, so to combine both loves is an absolute joy.

My husband and I relocated from interstate in 2012 - and the Northern Illawarra quickly felt like home.  We love the majestic coastline - and of course the dog friendly beaches were an instant attraction.  Percy enjoyed the freedom of walking on McCauley's, Little Austi and Sharky's beaches, either chasing his ball or playing with like-minded dogs.

I miss Percy every day but my affection for dogs means I can show other pooches just how lucky they are in the Northern Illawarra!

I was a committee member of the Illawarra Dog Community, which was integral in 2014 in gathering the dog community to successfully fight Wollongong Council's proposed dog beach changes.  In fact, Percy was an enthusiastic campaigner, wearing his green bandanna at every opportunity.  He also featured in The Mercury newspaper and on WIN News.

Most of the local friends I have made, have only been thanks to Percy.  Doggy parents will often know another dog's name long before their owners, but over time I have built up a wonderful group of friends - all dog owners.
